While notation literacy is not a strict prerequisite, a working knowledge of music fundamentals is strongly recommended. We offer preparatory modules in music theory for students who want to strengthen their reading skills before the program begins.
Students should have access to a professional DAW such as Logic Pro, Cubase, or Reaper, along with a notation program like Dorico or Sibelius. A list of recommended sample libraries and plug-ins will be provided upon enrollment.
Absolutely. Module 4 is dedicated entirely to interactive and game audio, including middleware integration with Wwise and FMOD. Students in the Private Mentorship format can weight their entire curriculum toward game scoring and adaptive music systems.
Graduates leave with a professional scoring reel featuring at least four scored scenes, a polished portfolio website, industry connections from faculty mentors, and a certificate of completion from The Global Conservatory.
Live orchestra sessions are held at partner studios with professional session musicians. Students prepare parts, attend a pre-session meeting with the conductor, then observe or conduct the recording of their own compositions. Remote students participate via live stream with real-time communication to the scoring stage.
