Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the weekly time commitment for this program?
Students should expect to dedicate approximately 10 to 15 hours per week to the program. This includes a 60-minute private lesson, preparation and practice time, bi-weekly masterclasses, monthly performance forums, and independent study. The program is designed for serious musicians but accommodates those who maintain professional performance or teaching schedules.
Which instruments and disciplines are available?
The Artist Diploma Track is available across all major classical instruments including piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, guitar, harp, percussion, and voice. We also accept applications in composition, conducting, and collaborative piano. If your instrument is not listed, please contact admissions to discuss availability.
What are the prerequisites for admission?
Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in music or equivalent professional training. We evaluate each candidate holistically, considering performance experience, artistic potential, and commitment to growth. Exceptional musicians without formal degrees may be considered on the strength of their audition and portfolio.
Can I defer my enrollment?
Yes. Admitted students may defer enrollment by one semester (to the following Fall or Spring term) by submitting a written deferral request within 30 days of their acceptance. Deferrals beyond one semester require reapplication. We understand that professional commitments sometimes necessitate flexibility.
What technical equipment do I need?
You will need a reliable internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps), a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a quiet practice space. For optimal audio quality, we recommend an external USB microphone or audio interface. Detailed technical recommendations are provided upon enrollment, and our team offers a setup consultation before your first lesson.
How are mentors assigned to students?
Mentor assignment is a collaborative process. During the application, you may indicate preferred faculty members. Our program director reviews your audition, goals, and stylistic interests to propose the best mentor match. You will have an introductory session before the formal pairing is confirmed, ensuring a strong artistic and interpersonal fit.
Is the Artist Diploma certificate recognized?
The Artist Diploma from The Global Conservatory is a professional credential recognized within the international music community. Our faculty includes members of world-leading conservatories, orchestras, and opera houses. While it is not a degree-granting program, the diploma is valued by concert presenters, competition panels, and academic institutions for its rigorous standards and the caliber of its faculty.
How do I apply?
Begin by completing the online application form, which includes uploading your video audition, statement of purpose, two letters of recommendation, and your current CV. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority deadlines in January for Spring admission and August for Fall admission. Our admissions team typically responds within three to four weeks.
