Frequently Asked

No formal prerequisites are required. A basic understanding of music theory is helpful but not mandatory. We accept students at all levels, from complete beginners to experienced musicians looking to expand into production and engineering. Your placement within the curriculum is determined during an initial assessment session with your mentor.
At minimum, you need a computer capable of running a modern DAW, headphones or studio monitors, and an audio interface. We provide a detailed equipment guide during onboarding that covers budget-friendly options for every price point. Many students start with just a laptop, headphones, and a single microphone, then expand their setup as they progress through the curriculum.
The core concepts taught are DAW-agnostic -- principles of recording, mixing, and mastering apply across all platforms. That said, our mentors have deep expertise in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Reaper. Your mentor will work within your preferred DAW so that every lesson translates directly to your workflow.
Yes. Upon successfully completing all six modules and your portfolio project, you receive a Certificate of Completion from The Global Conservatory. More importantly, you graduate with a professional-quality portfolio of work that demonstrates your capabilities to potential clients, collaborators, and employers in the music industry.
Graduates pursue careers as recording engineers, mix engineers, mastering engineers, music producers, podcast producers, post-production audio specialists, and live sound engineers.
