Recognized internationally for his artistry and versatility, Martin Schippers serves as Second and Bass Trombonist with the world-renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Beginning his musical journey on tenor tuba under the guidance of his grandfather, Schippers transitioned to trombone studies with his uncle Hans Schippers and later at the Rotterdam Conservatoire, where his talent led to an early appointment with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
Over two decades, Martin has performed across leading global concert halls with ensembles including the Concertgebouworkest Brass, International Trombone Ensemble, and New Trombone Collective. His dedication to performance and pedagogy has made him a sought-after faculty member and guest artist at major international festivals such as the International Trombone Festival, Festival do Campos Jordão (Brazil), Lätzsch Trombone Festival, and Peru Low Brass Festival.
Currently a professor of Alto, Tenor, and Bass Trombone at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Schippers continues to inspire the next generation of brass musicians through both orchestral excellence and personal mentorship.
