Dr. Immanuel Abraham is an award-winning violin performer, university professor, composer, orchestra director, and author with over 20 years of teaching experience across all levels—from young beginners to conservatory and professional musicians. Based in the United States, he is recognised internationally for his contributions to violin pedagogy, performance, and contemporary violin repertoire.

  • A distinguished educator, Dr Abraham has taught strings at every institutional tier, including South Dakota State University, where he served as Professor of Strings, and MusicProfessor.com, where he taught applied violin and viola. His teaching experience also spans elementary, middle school, high school orchestra programs, and private instruction at the highest professional level.
  • Known online as @TheViolinDoctor, he is the creator and administrator of The Violin Guild, a global community of over 79,000 violinists and string players. For more than 11 years, The Violin Guild has connected students, teachers, and world-renowned performers—establishing Dr. Abraham as one of the most influential string educators in the digital space.
  • As a composer, he is widely celebrated for his 78-page collection “24 Caprices for Solo Violin”—a contemporary repertoire staple that has sold thousands of copies worldwide, recently surpassing 2,000 copies sold this year. These works have been described by the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music as “a masterpiece of globalism and diversity.” His writings also include “A Performer-Composer’s Approach to Interpretation” (139 pages), which has shaped the interpretive understanding of many young performers.
  • Dr. Abraham has appeared as Concertmaster and performer with ensembles including the Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Contemporary Ensemble, NEWorks Philharmonic at the Kennedy Center, Woodbine Productions, and Prairie Repertory Theatre. PBS, ASTA, ESTA, the Menuhin-Dowling Program, SHAR Music, Fiddlershop, Southwest Strings, and numerous arts organisations across the United States have featured his work.
  • He brings a uniquely comprehensive musical background to his teaching—performing and instructing across Classical, Folk, Film/Media, Improvisation, Hindustani, Kirtan, and his own original musical language. With a balance of structure, creativity, and advanced artistic insight, Dr. Abraham continues to mentor the next generation of violinists and composers while preparing his upcoming album of the 24 Caprices, recorded with full third-edition bowings and fingerings for future violinists worldwide.
