The Global Conservatory operates on a transparent, faculty-set pricing model. There is no single "TGC tuition" because TGC is not a single-track institution — every student designs their own path, with their chosen faculty, at the rates that faculty set. This page explains how it works and gives you the ranges you can plan against.
How tuition is structured
Tuition at TGC follows the same logic as a traditional conservatory's external private studio: the artist sets their rate, and the rate reflects their experience, credentials, demand, and the format of instruction. What's different at TGC is that the entire process is transparent — you can see the rate before booking, you pay securely online, and the platform fee is included rather than added on top.
Private lessons
Private lessons are one-on-one sessions with your matched faculty member, typically 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes. Faculty set their own rates within the following observed market ranges:
| Faculty tier | Typical 60-minute rate (USD) | What this typically reflects |
|---|---|---|
| Emerging faculty | $30 – $75 | Recent graduates of major conservatories with active teaching practice and competitive performance experience |
| Established faculty | $75 – $150 | Conservatory faculty, orchestral musicians, opera professionals, internationally active soloists with substantial teaching record |
| Master faculty & principal artists | $150 – $300+ | Internationally recognised soloists, principal players in major orchestras, full conservatory professors, and recognised tradition-bearers |
Most students start with one weekly lesson; serious pre-professional students often combine weekly private lessons with masterclass and small-ensemble work. Many faculty offer multi-session packages at a small discount.
Group lessons and small classes
Group lessons offer structured cohort learning at a lower price per session. Class sizes typically range from 4 to 12 students, and group rates are usually 40–60% lower than private lesson rates. Group format is particularly effective for theory, ear training, repertoire study, audition preparation, and chamber music coaching.
Masterclasses
Masterclasses bring a renowned guest artist together with a small number of performers for direct coaching, in front of an audience of observers. Both performer and observer roles are open to enrolment:
- Performer seats typically range from $150 to $400 per masterclass, with one or two pieces prepared for direct coaching
- Observer seats typically range from $25 to $75 per masterclass, with full access to the live session and follow-up materials
Masterclass guest artists are announced quarterly on the Upcoming Masterclasses page.
Certificate programmes
TGC offers 78 certificate programmes across 10 academic divisions. Each certificate combines structured live coursework with assignments, peer feedback, and faculty assessment. Tuition varies by programme length, cohort size, and faculty intensity:
| Certificate type | Typical duration | Tuition range (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Foundational certificates | 8–12 weeks | $800 – $2,200 |
| Standard certificates | 16 weeks (one term) | $1,500 – $4,000 |
| Advanced / professional certificates | 24–32 weeks (two terms) | $3,500 – $7,500 |
| Intensive / fellowship programmes | Variable | $2,500 – $12,000 |
Each certificate's specific tuition is published on its programme page. To compare programmes, see our full certificate catalogue.
Intensives
Summer and winter intensives are concentrated programmes that combine private lessons, group classes, masterclasses, and structured practice planning. Specific tuition is published per intensive:
- Winter Intensive (3 weeks): typically $1,800 – $3,500
- Summer Intensive (4–6 weeks): typically $2,500 – $6,500
- Audition Preparation Intensives (4–8 weeks): typically $2,000 – $5,000
Specific dates and faculty assignments are confirmed at the start of each intensive's enrolment window.
Degree programmes (launching 2028)
TGC's Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts pathways are in development with international university partners and launch in 2028. Degree programmes will be conferred jointly by TGC and the partner institution; degree tuition will be published 12 months ahead of the first cohort. Interest is open now via the Degree Programmes Overview page.

Payment, billing, and packages
Per-lesson payment
Most students pay per lesson at the time of booking. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, alongside Apple Pay, Google Pay, and (in supported jurisdictions) PayPal and SEPA bank transfer. Payment is processed at the moment of booking; invoice receipts are emailed automatically.
Lesson packages
Many faculty offer multi-session packages (4, 8, 12, or 16 lessons) at a small discount versus the single-session rate. Packages are pre-paid and have a use-by window typically of 6 months.
Certificate and intensive payment plans
Certificate and intensive tuition can be paid in full at enrolment or in instalments (typically 2–4 instalments depending on programme length). Specific instalment terms are published per programme.
Currency
Tuition is published in USD by default. Local-currency display is supported for many regions; the actual charge to your card is processed at the prevailing exchange rate at the moment of payment.
Refunds and cancellation
The full Refund and Cancellation Policy governs eligibility for refunds. Summary:
- Trial lessons: full refund if you cancel before the lesson begins
- Single-session bookings: full refund if cancelled at least 48 hours in advance; faculty discretion within 48 hours
- Lesson packages: pro-rata refund of unused sessions, less a small administrative fee
- Certificate programmes: pro-rata refund of unused weeks, less an administrative fee, within a 14-day cooling-off window after the programme begins
- Intensives: per-intensive refund schedule, published at enrolment
Exceptions for documented illness, family emergency, or other circumstances where strict application of policy would be unfair are reviewed case-by-case.
Scholarships and financial aid
TGC operates a small but growing scholarship programme to support students for whom full tuition would be a barrier:
- Need-based scholarships — partial tuition support for students of demonstrated talent and financial need; awarded twice yearly
- Merit scholarships — full or partial tuition awards for exceptional pre-college and emerging artists; awarded by audition
- Geographic scholarships — scholarships supporting students from regions historically underrepresented in conservatory-grade training
- Founding-cohort discounts — early enrolment discounts for students joining founding-cohort certificate programmes (limited availability)
Application materials and deadlines are on the Scholarships & Financial Aid page. Scholarship inquiries: info@theglobalconservatory.com.
Institutional and partnership pricing
For schools, conservatories, youth orchestras, community music programmes, and corporate partners, TGC offers institutional pricing structured around four partnership tiers (Explorer, Partner, Premier, Enterprise). Institutional partnerships include negotiated tuition, white-label delivery options, co-branded certificates, and bulk-enrolment terms. See Institutional Partnerships for details, or contact info@theglobalconservatory.com with your institution's profile.
A note on faculty rates
Because faculty set their own rates, the published numbers above are observed market ranges, not institutional fixed pricing. Each faculty member's specific rate is shown on their profile and at the moment of booking. We update the ranges quarterly to reflect current faculty composition.
