Effective Date: April 27, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, reschedules, and refunds work at The Global Conservatory ("TGC"). It applies to private lessons, group classes, masterclasses, and certificate and degree-track programmes booked through theglobalconservatory.com and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Our policy is built around two principles: (1) faculty time is reserved for you when you book, so late changes have a real cost; and (2) when TGC or our faculty fall short, you are made whole. Both sides are protected.
1. Definitions
- Lesson: a single private session with a TGC faculty member.
- Class / Masterclass: a scheduled group session with one or more faculty members.
- Programme: a multi-session offering paid in a single fee or in instalments (e.g. a 12-week certificate, a degree-track semester).
- Lesson credit: a non-cash credit equal in value to one paid lesson at the same level, valid for 6 months from issue.
2. Private Lessons
2.1 Reschedule Window
You may reschedule a private lesson without charge if you give us at least 24 hours' notice before the lesson start time, through your account dashboard or by emailing info@theglobalconservatory.com. Reschedules must be used within 60 days of the original booking.
2.2 Late Reschedule (under 24 hours)
A reschedule requested less than 24 hours before the lesson is treated as a late change. We will offer a one-time goodwill reschedule per quarter as a courtesy; further late reschedules forfeit the lesson fee.
2.3 No-Show
If a student does not join within 10 minutes of the lesson start time and has not contacted us, the lesson is recorded as a no-show and the lesson fee is forfeited. Faculty are paid in full for no-shows.
2.4 Cancellation by the Student
- More than 7 days before the lesson: full refund to the original payment method, or a lesson credit at your choice.
- 24 hours – 7 days before: 50% refund or full lesson credit.
- Less than 24 hours before: no refund; the lesson fee is forfeited.
2.5 Cancellation by TGC or Faculty (Faculty-Side Guarantee)
If TGC or the assigned faculty member cancels a lesson for any reason, you receive — at your choice — (a) a full refund to the original payment method, or (b) a lesson credit valid for 12 months. Where the cancellation occurs less than 12 hours before the scheduled time, we additionally apply a 20% goodwill credit on your next booking.
2.6 Technical Issues During a Lesson
If a lesson cannot proceed due to a verifiable technical fault on TGC's side or the assigned faculty member's side, the lesson is rescheduled at no charge. If the issue is on the student's side (e.g. local internet outage, wrong device), the standard reschedule rules apply, but our support team will work with you in good faith.
3. Group Classes & Masterclasses
- Cancellation more than 7 days before: full refund or class credit.
- Cancellation 48 hours – 7 days before: 50% refund or full class credit.
- Cancellation less than 48 hours before: no refund; the class fee is forfeited.
- If TGC cancels: full refund or full credit at your choice.
- Recording access may, at our discretion, be offered as a goodwill alternative when a student misses a class.
4. Multi-Session Programmes (Certificates & Degree-Track)
4.1 Cooling-Off Period
For programmes paid in a single fee, you may cancel within 7 days of the start date for a full refund, provided you have attended no more than one session.
4.2 Pro-Rata Refund After Start
After the cooling-off period, refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis: the price of the programme, less the value of sessions delivered (at the per-session rate as published at the time of enrolment), less a 10% administrative fee, less any non-recoverable third-party costs (e.g. accreditation fees, examination registrations).
4.3 Instalments
If you cancel a programme paid in instalments, all outstanding instalments through the end of the current billing month remain due. Future instalments are cancelled.
4.4 Cancellation by TGC
If TGC discontinues a programme after it has begun, students receive a pro-rata refund for the undelivered portion plus a 10% goodwill credit toward a future TGC programme.
4.5 Faculty Substitution
A change of faculty is not, by itself, grounds for a refund, provided the substitute is of equivalent qualification. Where you are not satisfied with a substitute, contact us within 7 days and we will work with you on an acceptable solution.
5. Scholarships, Promotional & Bundled Bookings
- Scholarship places and bursary-funded enrolments are non-transferable and non-refundable, except where TGC cancels.
- Promotional discounts are deducted from the refund calculation: refunds are based on the price actually paid, not the list price.
- Bundled lesson packages (e.g. 10 lessons sold as a pack) are refundable on the unused portion only, at the equivalent single-lesson rate, less a 10% administrative fee.
6. Subscriptions
- You may cancel a subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- We do not refund partial subscription periods unless required by law.
- Lessons or credits issued with a subscription expire at the end of the cancelled billing period unless otherwise stated at purchase.
7. How to Request a Refund
- Email info@theglobalconservatory.com from the address on your account, including your booking reference and the reason for the request.
- We acknowledge within 2 business days and resolve within 10 business days.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. We are not able to refund to a different card or account.
- Bank-side processing may add up to 10 business days. International settlements may add further delay.
8. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first — almost every dispute can be resolved directly. Initiating a chargeback before contacting us may result in suspension of your account until the dispute is resolved with the card network and may delay any otherwise-available refund. Where a chargeback is found to be unjustified, TGC reserves the right to recover its reasonable processing and administrative costs.
9. Statutory Rights
This Policy does not limit any statutory consumer-protection right you may have under the law of your country of residence. Where a mandatory local rule provides a longer cooling-off period or stronger refund entitlement, that local rule applies.
10. Faculty Side
For active faculty, refund interactions, late-cancellation pay-outs, and substitution arrangements are governed by your TGC Faculty Engagement Letter. This Policy does not modify that agreement.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top will be revised when changes are made. Material changes will be communicated by email and a notice on the Services. Bookings made before a change are governed by the Policy in effect at the time of booking.
