Vadim Shvedchikov is an internationally acclaimed horn soloist, principal orchestral musician, and conservatory faculty member with over 15 years of professional performance and teaching experience. Based in Russia, he is currently Principal Horn of La Voce Strumentale Orchestra of the Nizhny Novgorod State Opera and Ballet Theatre and serves on the horn faculty at the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory of Music.

Vadim has held principal horn positions with leading orchestras worldwide, including the Shanghai Opera House and Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, where he was awarded “Musician of the Year” just one year after joining. As a Guest Principal Horn, he has performed with major international ensembles such as the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, musicAeterna Orchestra, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, and Serbian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

He has collaborated with many of the world’s most respected conductors, including Franz Welser-Möst, Neeme Järvi, Teodor Currentzis, Andrew Litton, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Robert Spano, Eiji Oue, Daniel Oren, Mark Wigglesworth, and Tito Muñoz.

Vadim holds a Bachelor’s degree from the National University of Singapore and a Master’s degree from Boston University, where he studied with leading international horn pedagogues. He has also worked closely with artists such as Radovan Vlatković, Frøydis Ree Wekre, Eric Ruske, Johannes Hinterholzer, Christian Lampert, Michael Thompson, Ben Jacks, and Luca Benucci.

In addition to orchestral work, Vadim has performed extensively with renowned ensembles including Boston Brass, Australian Brass, and Imani Winds, and has appeared in concert halls across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, including Russia, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the UAE, Singapore, and China.
