Simona Gatto
Italian Language for Singers Faculty | The Global Conservatory

Simona Gatto is a specialist in Italian language coaching for singers, combining advanced linguistic scholarship with deep expertise in historical vocal performance. Based in Italy and Spain, she is a native Italian speaker, professional singer, and PhD candidate in Italian Philology with a focus on Musicology at the University of Valencia.

Simona holds a Master’s degree in Foreign Languages (English and French) from the University of Calabria and a Bachelor’s degree in Renaissance and Baroque Singing from the Conservatory of Venice. With 19 years of experience in language teaching, she works fluently in Italian, English, French, and Spanish, serving singers from Beginner through Professional levels.

Her artistic focus lies in Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque repertoire, with particular expertise in historical pronunciation, poetic scansion, diction, and stylistic authenticity. Her teaching bridges language, music history, and vocal practice, making her work especially valuable for opera singers, early music specialists, musicologists, and performers working with Italian vocal literature.

At The Global Conservatory, Simona teaches Italian language for singers through private lessons, group classes, studio classes, and masterclasses. Her sessions emphasize clear pronunciation of Italian opera arias, linguistic precision, stylistic awareness, and long-term artistic development. Her approach is structured, creative, and goal-oriented, supporting both academic and professional performance contexts.

Through a rare integration of philology, vocal artistry, and pedagogy, Simona Gatto provides singers with the linguistic and cultural foundation required for authoritative, stylistically informed Italian performance.
