Rachel Rose Farber

Rachel Rose Farber is an American soprano, violinist, and senior educator with over twenty-five years of teaching experience and an active international performing career. Based in the United States, she works with children, teens, and adults from Beginner through Professional levels, offering deeply informed, holistic musical training.
Rachel is a lyric-coloratura soprano and violinist and has been a member of The Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band since 2010, touring extensively worldwide as part of one of the U.S. Army’s premier ensembles. In addition to her military performance career, she freelances regularly in the Baltimore–Washington area as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber artist.
She holds a Master of Liberal Arts, summa cum laude, from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Music, magna cum laude, in Voice/Opera from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music. Rachel is a registered Suzuki violin teacher (all levels) and holds certifications in somatic teaching therapies, integrating body awareness, efficiency, and wellness into her pedagogy.
At The Global Conservatory, Rachel teaches voice and violin through private lessons, group classes, studio classes, and masterclasses. Her vocal teaching is grounded in classical bel canto technique, with experience spanning opera, art song, and healthy crossover into pop, folk, and contemporary styles. Her violin instruction is built on Suzuki methodology combined with additional technical and musical approaches tailored to each student.
Rachel’s teaching areas include opera role preparation, audition and repertoire coaching, stage work, violin audition preparation, health and nutrition for performers, yoga and somatic awareness, time management for freelancers, and general professional preparation. Her approach is structured, creative, and goal-oriented, while remaining deeply human and student-centered.
