Matthew Agba is a Nigerian pianist, organist, and senior music educator with over twenty-five years of teaching and performance experience across classical piano, organ, improvisation, and music theory. Based in Nigeria (GMT+1), he works extensively with children, teens, and adults from Beginner through Pre-Professional levels.

Matthew holds multiple professional certifications, including ABRSM qualifications in piano performance and music theory, and has completed advanced CPD training with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in musicianship, classroom practice, and reflective pedagogy. His academic background also includes degrees in Economics and Statistics, supporting a highly structured and analytical teaching approach.

He has served in university and conservatory settings and is the Founder and Director of Matt-Agba Music Consult. His career includes long-term roles as a piano instructor, organist, accompanist, examiner presenter for professional music certifications, and volunteer educator with international arts organizations in Nigeria, the United States, and Canada. He is an active member of national and international music education associations.

As a performer, Matthew has appeared extensively as a pianist and organist in concerts, festivals, choral works, and major liturgical productions, including large-scale performances of Handel and Nigerian art music. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, scholarships, and certificates of outstanding teaching and leadership in music education.

At The Global Conservatory, Matthew teaches piano through private lessons, group lessons, studio classes, and masterclasses. His instruction focuses on technique, sight reading, dynamics, improvisation, posture, dexterity, and foundational musicianship. His teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, clarity, gradual skill development, and creating an engaging learning environment that builds confidence and long-term musical independence.
