I am a professional baritone, voice teacher, conductor, and vocal pedagogy researcher with an international career spanning opera, classical voice, musical theatre, and contemporary vocal training.

I earned my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Myongji University in Seoul and my Master’s Degree in Opera Performance from the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, where I studied with Joan Martín-Royo, Luciana Serra, and Diego Martín. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance while continuing to perform, teach, and conduct research internationally.

As a professional singer, I have performed the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Publio in La clemenza di Tito, Dandini in La Cenerentola, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and roles in Lucia di Lammermoor, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Turandot, and La bohème. My professional experience includes engagements with Sofia Opera and Ballet and State Opera Ruse, as well as performances across Europe, Asia, and the United States.

My background is not limited to classical singing. Before developing my international opera career, I also trained and performed in musical theatre. As a teacher, I have worked with classical singers, musical theatre performers, actors, K-pop trainees, audition candidates, and ensemble singers. This broad experience has made me especially interested in helping students understand how vocal technique can be adapted to different voices, repertoire, performance styles, and individual goals.

My teaching philosophy is fundamentally individualized. I do not believe that every singer should be taught through the same sensations, exercises, or technical language. Instead, I begin by observing the individual voice and identifying the singer’s strengths, technical challenges, tessitura, registration, breathing patterns, diction, and artistic goals. From there, I work collaboratively with the student to develop a technique that is both efficient and personally sustainable.

My current research in vocal pedagogy further explores this individualized, evidence-informed approach to voice teaching. I am particularly interested in the relationship between vocal function, tessitura, passaggio and registration, diction, repertoire selection, and artistic expression.

I especially enjoy working with singers who want to develop a reliable technique while retaining their individual vocal identity. Whether a student is preparing an opera role, audition, recital, musical theatre performance, or simply seeking to understand their voice more deeply, my goal is to help them become increasingly independent, technically secure, and expressive musicians.
