Davis Erickson
Tuba Faculty | The Global Conservatory

Davis Erickson is an American tuba educator and performer with a strong foundation in both conservatory training and practical classroom teaching. Based in the United States (Central Time), he brings over six years of experience teaching across K–12 education, community colleges, and higher education settings.

Davis holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Pittsburg State University, where he studied tuba performance under distinguished teachers including Ron Bishop, Dennis Nulty, and Doug Whitten. His academic background is complemented by extensive experience working with young musicians, advancing students, and pre-professional players within structured educational systems.

At The Global Conservatory, Davis teaches Beginner through Pre-Professional students, working with children, teens, and adults. His areas of instruction include applied tuba and euphonium, music theory, and general musicianship. His teaching style is structured, creative, and exam- and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on building solid fundamentals, musical understanding, and long-term technical consistency.

Davis offers private lessons, studio classes, group lessons, and masterclasses online, supported by a professional external microphone setup optimized for high-quality remote instruction. His approach reflects a balance between conservatory-level expectations and accessible pedagogy, making him especially effective for students progressing through formative and transitional stages of their musical development.

Through disciplined instruction, clarity of fundamentals, and broad educational experience, Davis Erickson supports students in developing both technical confidence and musical independence on the tuba and euphonium.
