Partnership Models

We are flexible in how we structure partnerships. Below are models we are prepared to explore — each can be tailored to your institution's requirements and regulatory framework.

Validation Partnership

Your institution validates TGC-designed programs and awards the degree. TGC handles student recruitment, instruction delivery, and operations.

  • You validate curriculum and standards
  • You award the degree under your name
  • TGC delivers instruction and manages operations
  • Revenue shared per enrolled student

Joint Delivery

Faculty from both institutions co-teach courses. Students benefit from dual expertise while your institution maintains full academic oversight.

  • Shared teaching responsibilities
  • Joint curriculum committee
  • Your accreditation covers the programs
  • Enhanced student experience

Franchise / License Model

Your institution licenses its degree-awarding authority. TGC operates the programs according to your quality standards and assessment frameworks.

  • License fee structure
  • Quality assurance by your institution
  • TGC manages full operations
  • Periodic audits and reviews

Credit Transfer Pathway

TGC certificate completers receive credit transfer into your degree programs. This creates a feeder pipeline without full program co-delivery.

  • Lower commitment entry point
  • Student pipeline from TGC to you
  • Credit mapping and articulation
  • Pathway to deeper partnership

Partnership Models in Higher Education

University partnerships for program validation and delivery are well-established in higher education worldwide. Below are three models that demonstrate the viability and breadth of this approach.

Case Study 1

The Validation Model in Practice

UK universities have long used validation partnerships as a core strategy for extending their reach. In this model, a university validates programs designed and delivered by a partner institution, maintaining quality oversight while the partner handles recruitment, instruction, and student support.

  • Used by 100+ UK institutions across diverse disciplines
  • Partner delivers education; university ensures academic standards
  • Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) provides regulatory oversight
  • Enables global delivery without physical campus expansion

This is the primary model TGC is proposing for degree program partnerships.

Case Study 2

Online Degree Partnerships

Leading universities worldwide have partnered with online education platforms to deliver future-accredited degree pathway programs to global student populations. These partnerships combine the university's academic reputation and accreditation with the platform's technology, marketing, and student support infrastructure.

  • Universities maintain full academic control and award degrees
  • Platform partners provide technology and student services
  • Students access recognized credentials from anywhere in the world
  • Revenue sharing creates sustainable financial models for both parties

TGC's model follows this established pattern but is specialized for music education.

Case Study 3

Conservatory Partnerships

Music conservatories have increasingly formed partnerships to offer joint programs, share faculty expertise, and expand their program offerings without each institution building everything independently. These collaborations leverage complementary strengths across institutions.

  • Joint degrees and dual enrollment programs
  • Shared masterclass and seminar series
  • Faculty exchange and collaborative instruction
  • Expanded repertoire and specialization options for students

TGC extends this collaborative tradition into the digital realm.

These are examples of partnership models used in higher education. TGC's specific partnership structure will be developed collaboratively with our partner institution(s).

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Does TGC currently have accreditation?
TGC is a Hong Kong-registered educational institution offering professional certificates and executive programs. We do not currently hold future degree-granting (in development) accreditation, which is precisely why we are seeking accredited university partners for degree programs.
What partnership model do you prefer?
We are flexible and open to the model that best suits your institution's accreditation framework and strategic goals. The validation model (where your institution validates and awards the degree while TGC delivers) is common in international education, but we welcome alternative structures.
    What degree programs are planned?
Bachelor of Music (BM), Master of Music (MM), and Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA), each with multiple concentration areas including performance, composition, conducting, music technology, pedagogy, and more.
    How is revenue shared?
Revenue sharing models are negotiable and depend on the level of involvement from each partner. We are committed to structures that create mutual benefit and long-term sustainability.
    What regions are you targeting?
Our student base spans globally, with strong demand from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Europe. We welcome partners from any region with recognized accreditation.
How quickly can a partnership be established?
Timelines vary by accreditation framework. A validation partnership typically takes 12–24 months from initial agreement to program launch, depending on regulatory requirements in your jurisdiction.
Will our institution retain quality control?
Absolutely. The validating institution maintains full academic oversight, sets assessment standards, approves faculty, and conducts periodic quality reviews. TGC operates within your quality framework.
    Is there exclusivity?
Exclusivity terms are negotiable. We can discuss exclusive arrangements by region, degree level, or concentration area depending on the scope of partnership.
What is the minimum commitment period for a partnership?
Minimum commitment periods are negotiable and typically reflect the length of a degree cycle. For a validation partnership, we generally propose an initial term of 5 years with renewal options, ensuring both parties have sufficient time to establish the program, build enrollment, and achieve a return on investment. Shorter exploratory agreements are also available for credit transfer pathways.
Can we start with one degree level and expand?
Yes. Many of our proposed partnership structures are designed to be modular. An institution can begin with a single degree level — for example, starting with the Master of Music — and expand to additional levels (BM, DMA) as confidence and enrollment grow. This phased approach reduces risk and allows both partners to optimize operations before scaling.
    How does faculty appointment work?
Faculty appointment models vary by partnership type. In a validation partnership, TGC proposes faculty members who must be reviewed and approved by the partner institution according to its academic standards. Faculty may hold joint appointments, or the partner institution may appoint TGC instructors as adjunct or visiting faculty. All faculty credentials are shared transparently, and the partner institution retains the right to approve or reject any proposed instructor.
What happens if the partnership ends?
All partnership agreements include teach-out provisions to protect enrolled students. If a partnership concludes, both parties are contractually obligated to ensure that all currently enrolled students can complete their degree programs under the original terms. TGC also commits to an orderly transition of any shared resources, data, and intellectual property as specified in the partnership agreement. Student welfare is the highest priority in any transition scenario.
