Admission Requirements
The TGC DMA will be a highly selective program. Applicants will be evaluated on the strength of their artistic portfolio, academic record, and scholarly potential. Below are the projected admission requirements.
Academic Requirements
- Master’s degree in Music (MM, MA, or equivalent from an accredited institution)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or international equivalent)
- Strong academic record in music theory, history, and research
- Evidence of scholarly writing ability
Performance Portfolio
- Full-length recital recording (minimum 50 minutes)
- Three or more additional performance videos demonstrating range and artistry
- For composers: portfolio of published or performed compositions
