Celebrated internationally for his artistry and command of the horn, Vadim Shvedchikov is Principal Horn of La Voce Strumentale Orchestra of the Nizhny Novgorod State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and Horn Faculty at the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory of Music in Russia. Over a distinguished career spanning more than fifteen years, Vadim has served as Principal Horn with leading orchestras including the Shanghai Opera House, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, and Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra, earning the “Musician of the Year” award in Guiyang after just one year of service.

As a Guest Principal Horn, he has collaborated with premier ensembles such as the Seoul Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony, Nuremberg Symphony, Suzhou Symphony, Serbian Radio Symphony, and Qingdao Symphony Orchestra. His artistry has brought him to concert halls across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, performing under renowned conductors including Franz Welser-Möst, Neeme Järvi, Teodor Currentzis, Andrew Litton, and Mark Wigglesworth.

A graduate of the National University of Singapore (Yong Siew Toh Conservatory) on full scholarship and Boston University, Vadim studied under horn masters Eric Ruske, Han Chang Chue, and Jamie Hersch, and has worked with luminaries such as Radovan Vlatković, Froydis Ree Wekre, and Michael Thompson. His performance collaborations span distinguished ensembles such as Boston Brass, Australian Brass, and Imani Winds.

Known for his bold, expressive sound and fearless musical approach, Vadim embodies his guiding principle: “Fortune favors the bold.”
