Elizabeth Kahn is an accomplished piano educator with over 32 years of international teaching experience, currently based between Johannesburg and Italy. She is a university- and conservatory-level faculty member, widely respected for her consistency, warmth, and exceptional student outcomes across generations of pianists.

Elizabeth is ABRSM- and UNISA-qualified and has maintained a 100% examination pass rate in both classical piano and classical guitar examinations throughout her career. She teaches children, teens, and adults from beginner through advanced levels, with a strong emphasis on structured progress, musical confidence, and long-term enjoyment of music-making.

Her teaching philosophy is exam- and goal-oriented, while remaining flexible and student-centered. Elizabeth believes examinations provide motivation, structure, and a tangible sense of achievement, but she adapts each lesson to the individual needs, pace, and personality of the student. Her lessons are supportive, disciplined, and grounded in the belief that music should be enjoyable for both student and teacher.

Elizabeth has received multiple professional recognitions, including a UNISA Teacher Award and a College Medal, reflecting both her pedagogical excellence and her impact on student success. Music, teaching, and travel are central to her life, and this global perspective informs her open, encouraging approach to education.
