I practice 4 hours daily starting with Bach Inventions
“The Global Stage gave me an audience I never knew existed — listeners from six continents who message me about how Bach connects us all.”
The Chaconne taught me about musical architecture
“Performing online stripped away the pretense. It's just you, your instrument, and the truth of the music.”
Breathing exercises are my meditation
“When I sing on The Global Stage, the camera becomes my confidant. I share things I'd never dare in a concert hall.”
Teaching IS performing — every lesson is a concert
“After 30 years on concert stages, The Global Stage showed me that intimacy is the ultimate virtuosity.”
I visualize the full performance before I play a note
“Visualization isn't just mental rehearsal — it's composing the emotional arc of the evening before it unfolds.”
Three continents, one musical heartbeat
“We rehearse across time zones and perform as one. The Global Stage made our impossible ensemble possible.”
From sound check to standing ovation — every moment matters
Our production team tests every microphone, camera angle, and lighting setup. The artist's instrument is miked and levels are balanced for broadcast quality.
A one-on-one coaching session with a TGC faculty mentor. Final musical decisions are made — tempos, dynamics, stage presence for the camera.
Artists prepare their concert attire and on-camera appearance. This quiet time is also used for mental preparation and score review.
Full technical dress rehearsal. The stream is tested end-to-end, camera transitions are rehearsed, and the artist sees their on-screen framing.
The artist's sacred time. Guided breathing, slow warm-ups, and finding the emotional center of the program. No interruptions allowed.
The curtain rises — digitally. Audiences from around the world tune in as the artist delivers their performance to The Global Stage.
Immediately after the performance, the artist meets with their faculty mentor to discuss what went well and explore areas of growth.
The performance is processed for the permanent archive. Clips are prepared for social media, and the artist receives their personal recording.
Everything you need to know about performing on The Global Stage
Preparation for a Global Stage performance begins 2-3 weeks before your date. You'll be paired with a faculty mentor who guides your repertoire selection, stage presence for camera, and technical setup. We provide a detailed preparation guide covering everything from lighting your space to choosing your wardrobe. Most importantly, we help you adapt your performance energy for the intimate, close-up nature of livestream.
At minimum, you need a reliable internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps upload), a computer with a webcam, and your instrument. For the best quality, we recommend an external USB microphone, ring light or softbox lighting, and a neutral background. Our technical team will assess your setup during the pre-performance consultation and provide specific recommendations. We can also loan equipment to selected performers.
Absolutely! Every Global Stage performance is broadcast live and is accessible to viewers worldwide. You'll receive a unique share link that you can send to family, friends, teachers, and supporters. There's no limit to the audience size. After the performance, the archived recording is also available for sharing. Many of our performers tell us this is the first time distant family members have been able to attend their recitals.
Yes. Every Global Stage performance is professionally archived in high definition. You'll receive a personal copy of your performance within 48 hours, along with a highlight reel suitable for social media. The full performance is added to The Global Conservatory's permanent archive, building a living library of artistic achievement. You retain full rights to use your recording for auditions, portfolios, and personal promotion.
The Global Stage performance opportunity is included for all enrolled TGC students at no additional cost. For alumni and guest performers, there may be a nominal production fee to cover technical support and archiving. We believe every artist deserves a stage, and we work to keep costs as accessible as possible. Scholarships for the production fee are available upon request.
Our production team monitors every stream in real-time with backup systems in place. If there's a brief internet interruption, we have a 30-second buffer that seamlessly covers most drops. For longer issues, we can pause the stream with a professional holding screen and resume when you're ready. In the rare event of a major technical failure, we guarantee a reschedule at your earliest convenience. The show always goes on — we make sure of it.
Your audience is waiting. Whether you're ready to perform or want to experience the magic as a viewer, The Global Stage welcomes you.
