Yagmur Soydemir is a flutist, composer, arranger, recording artist, and Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music. A Jazz Flute Committee Member at the National Flute Association of the USA, she has received numerous awards in international solo flute and chamber music competitions across Europe and the USA, and has performed with more than twenty prominent symphony orchestras across Turkey, Europe, and the United States.
With over 20 years of expertise in classical music, Soydemir frequently performs with her own jazz band and in jazz big bands at prestigious venues including the MGM Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Berklee Performance Center, and Harvard Club of Boston. As a composer and arranger, her original works have been performed by small ensembles and orchestras in Turkey and the USA.
Soydemir earned a Bachelor's Degree in Flute Performance from the Nice Conservatory in France, a Master's in Flute Performance from the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, a Professional Diploma with a dual major in Contemporary Writing and Production and Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music, and a Master's in Global Jazz from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where she was awarded a full-tuition scholarship twice.
Beyond performing, composing, arranging, and recording, Soydemir is a dedicated educator offering both online and in-person flute instruction in classical and jazz styles.
