Mock Audition Simulation

Overview

Military band auditions aren’t about potential.
They’re about proof.

You’re judged behind a screen. On a recording. On paper. Under time.

There’s no feedback loop. No second chances. No learning curve.

The Mock Audition Simulation is where you learn to deliver under those exact conditions.
Real excerpts. Real pressure. Real panels.

This is not a class. It’s a system to train the audition muscle—so when the screen goes up, you don’t collapse. You perform.

How It Works

1. Packet Drop

  • You receive a curated audition packet 72 hours before the round
  • Excerpts are pulled from actual military lists used in the last 5–10 years
  • Optional warm-up or ceremonial excerpt included if relevant to your instrument

2. The Round

You choose:

  • Live on Zoom (blind panel, muted entry)
  • Pre-recorded video submission (submitted 48 hours in advance)

No commentary, no breaks, no second takes.
You submit once. Just like the real thing.

3. Blind Evaluation

  • Panelists assess without names, faces, or identifying details
  • Notes on time, articulation, tone clarity, tempo discipline, and hire-readiness
  • All evaluations are scored using military band criteria

4. Panel Reveal & Debrief

After evaluations:

  • Panelists reveal who they listened to
  • You receive direct feedback — what would’ve passed, what would’ve failed, and why
  • You’ll be coached on what you sounded like behind the screen
  • Written commentary delivered within 48 hours

5. Optional Second Round

  • “Pass” players are invited to prepare a second-round packet
  • Focus shifts to: longer excerpts, solo features, mixed-style material, or leadership rep
  • Designed to simulate final round for elite roles (e.g. Army Field Band, President’s Own, etc.)
