Credential and Accreditation Disclosure

Plain-English statement of what TGC's credentials are, what they are not, and what we are working to become. Effective May 6, 2026.

The short version. The Global Conservatory is not currently accredited. We issue non-degree professional certificates. We are pursuing university-partnership pathways for future credit-bearing certificates and we will not represent these as available before they are real.

1. Current accreditation status

The Global Conservatory is not currently accredited by any recognised accreditor in any jurisdiction.

This includes:

  • The National Association of Schools of Music (NASM, United States)
  • The Royal Schools of Music (UK)
  • The Chinese Ministry of Education
  • The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ)
  • AdvancED / Cognia
  • Any other equivalent accreditation body

We are pursuing accreditation pathways. We do not represent that we have achieved them.

2. What TGC issues today

TGC currently issues:

  • Non-degree professional certificates for completion of TGC certificate programmes
  • Certificates of completion for individual courses, masterclasses, and intensives
  • Faculty letters of recommendation for students who request them, at faculty discretion
  • Transcripts of study documenting courses completed and faculty engaged

TGC does not currently issue:

  • Bachelor of Music (BM) degrees
  • Master of Music (MM) degrees
  • Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degrees
  • Artist Diplomas (in the formal accredited sense)
  • Performer's Diploma (in the formal accredited sense)
  • Any credential that confers professional licensure
  • Any credential recognised by external accreditors as equivalent to a degree

3. Degree pathway development

We are developing degree pathways through prospective accredited partners. This work is at various stages depending on the partner relationship and the regulator.

What this means in practice

  • "Degree pathway" language on TGC's site refers to work in development, not currently available products.
  • Any degree we eventually issue will be issued either by an accredited partner under TGC's curriculum, or by TGC itself if and when TGC achieves direct accreditation.
  • No specific timeline is guaranteed. We will not issue press timelines until contracts are signed and regulatory clearance is in place.

What you should NOT rely on

  • Any specific year mentioned in marketing material as a "degree launch year"
  • Any implication that current TGC programmes will retroactively convert to degree credit
  • Any implication that TGC's certificates will transfer as degree credit to other institutions

4. Credit transfer

TGC certificates and programme completion records:

  • Are not automatically transferable to any other institution.
  • May be considered for credit by some institutions on a case-by-case basis at the receiving institution's sole discretion.
  • Are subject to receiving institution policies, including residency requirements, course-equivalency reviews, and timing of submission.

We make no representation that TGC credit will transfer anywhere. Students considering future degree completion at another institution should verify in writing with that institution before enrolling at TGC whether TGC credit will be accepted.

5. Professional licensure and career outcomes

TGC programmes do not confer:

  • Music therapy licensure (MT-BC in the US, RMT in Australia, HCPC registration in the UK, or any equivalent)
  • Teaching licensure or certification recognised by any state, provincial, or national education authority
  • Performance licences, union eligibility, or professional society membership
  • Visa eligibility or immigration documentation in any jurisdiction
  • Audition placements, employment, scholarship offers, or any other professional outcome

TGC programmes may support your preparation for these outcomes, but the outcomes themselves are determined by external authorities and your own circumstances.

6. Specific domain disclaimers

6.1 Music therapy / wellness programmes

TGC's music therapy and wellness programmes are educational in nature. They are not clinical practice training and do not authorise practice as a music therapist. Music therapy as a clinical practice requires licensure (MT-BC, RMT, HCPC, etc.). TGC does not confer such licensure.

6.2 Method pedagogy (Suzuki, Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze, Gordon)

TGC's method pedagogy programmes provide educational study of these methods. They do not confer official certification from the method-controlling bodies. For official certification, students must pursue training through authorised certifying bodies separate from TGC.

6.3 Audition preparation

TGC's audition preparation programmes are coaching and rehearsal programmes. They do not guarantee admission to any institution, audition success, or any specific outcome. Admissions decisions are made entirely by the receiving institutions on their own criteria.

6.4 Teacher training

TGC's teacher training programmes provide pedagogical knowledge. They do not confer state, provincial, or national teaching licensure. Students seeking such licensure must complete the required programmes in their jurisdiction separately.

6.5 Music business / industry programmes

TGC's music business programmes are educational. They do not confer industry credentials, union membership, or professional licensing in music management, copyright, recording, or any related field.

7. What TGC promises

  • Live, one-on-one and group instruction with internationally accomplished faculty.
  • Curated, mission-driven programming maintained to a consistent institutional standard.
  • Certificates of completion documenting your work with TGC, signed by participating faculty where applicable.
  • A learning community with peer students, faculty, and TGC staff.
  • Transparent communication about what TGC is, what it isn't, and what we're working to become.

8. Public roadmap

TGC's public roadmap is intentionally cautious:

  • 2026: Founding-stage operations. Live lessons, group classes, masterclasses, certificate programmes (pilot cohorts).
  • 2027: Founding cohort opens. First major certificate programmes run.
  • 2028+: Expansion of certificate programmes; partner agreements explored; institutional partnerships pursued.
  • No degree-granting timeline. When and whether TGC offers accredited degree credentials depends on partner agreements, regulatory clearances, and operational readiness — none of which can be promised in advance.

9. When this disclosure changes

If TGC obtains accreditation, partners with an accredited institution to issue formal credit, or otherwise materially changes our credential offerings, this Disclosure will be updated. We will:

  • Update the Effective Date at the top
  • Communicate material changes via email to affected students and faculty
  • Post changes on the relevant programme pages

We will not retroactively re-characterise past or current TGC certificates as something they are not.
